Maryland’s Home Prices Rise Yet Again in July 2012

Based on the latest housing statistics of the Maryland Association of Realtors (MAR), the average home price and median home price in Maryland for the month of July this year climbed up yet again.

MAR’s latest housing statistics show that the average price of homes sold in Maryland last July was $307,383, a 3.8% increase from last year’s average home price of $296,022.

The median home price in Maryland for the month of July, according to MAR, was $261,772, a 7.8% increase from last year’s median home price of $242,796.

The realtors association added that a total of 5,122 home units were sold last July in Maryland, a 3.5% increase from last year’s 4,949 total home units sold.

The active inventory – those home units that stays on the market – in July this year in Maryland totaled 27,309, a significant drop from last year’s 37,555 active inventory.
