What Will the 2022 Market Look like?

So that you know what’s happening, here are our 2022 market predictions.

We’re at the beginning of a new year, so you may be wondering what 2022’s real estate market will bring us. In our local southern Maryland market, I’m confident that we’ll see more of the same. We’ll continue to see multiple offers on houses in the average price range, and for anything below that range, we’re seeing tons of offers. The higher price ranges are moving well, too. There will not be a massive change in 2022 to what we were seeing in 2021.

This means that if you’re a buyer, you should move quickly. Houses will continue to appreciate. No one can see into our real estate future, but I don’t believe we’ll see a bubble forming like we had in 2008. If you’re considering buying a house you’ll stay in for a while, I advise jumping into the market now. Also, if you stay in the home long term, you can ride out a bubble if one happens.

There will not be a massive change in 2022 to what we were seeing in 2021.

If you’re a seller looking to move up into a higher price point, it’s a great time to sell because you can get top dollar for your current house. The homes in the higher price ranges aren’t seeing as much appreciation or as many offers, so there will be more properties to choose from and fewer buyers against which to compete.

Whether you’re a first-time homebuyer, need to move quickly to save money, thinking about moving up, or waiting for a job offer to move out of the area, we can help. Whatever the case may be, we can sit down, discuss your needs, explain what’s going on in the market, and come up with a plan that’s best for you.

If you’re considering making a real estate move this year and are wondering what it will look like, reach out via email, phone, or text. We’d be more than glad to help you. Also, if you have a question you’d like us to answer in a future blog, comment below or contact us about it. If we use your question in a blog, we’ll send you a $25 gift card. Happy New Year!
