Maryland’s Home Prices Rise in June 2012

The recent housing statistics of the Maryland Association of Realtors (MAR) reveal that Maryland’s average home price, median home price and home sales went up in June this year.

According to MAR, the average Maryland’s home price in June 2012 was $317,659, a 6.7% increase from last year’s $297,813 average home price.

Maryland’s median home price in June 2012 was $268,910, an 8.5% increase from last year’s $247,808 median home price.

Home sales in Maryland also increased, according to MAR, with 5,579 units completely sold, a 1.7% increase from last year’s 5,485 completed sold units. Maryland’s pending units – those units currently under contract and which will settle in the future – also increased in June 2012 with 6,634 pending units; compared to 6,352 pending units one year ago.

Meanwhile, there were 28,247 units in Maryland’s active inventory – those for sale housing units that remain on the market, a drop from last year’s 38,464 active inventory.
