What Are the Benefits of a Real Estate Team?

There are great benefits for both agents and clients in working with a real estate team.

Why should agents work on a team? And why should clients want to work with a team rather than an individual agent? Obviously, we’re biased, but we have good reason to be. Once you hear where we’re coming from, you’ll understand why.

All agents must join a brokerage before they can sell real estate. However, the brokerage is not your employer. As an agent, you are your own business and responsible for everything to do with your business from start to finish. A brokerage may offer some guidance and additional resources, but overall, you as an individual need to have the drive and motivation to seek out the knowledge and practical experience to excel in real estate.

For an agent, joining a team gives you the opportunity to learn the business in a practical manner directly from already established agents. A team will invest all of its energy and resources in your success. It lets you multiply yourself and your efforts and gives you the opportunity to specialize. Real estate is a varied industry with many areas where you can focus your knowledge development. It also means more eyes are on the transaction, which greatly reduces the chance for mistakes to sneak through. These same benefits are also great for our clients. A client doesn’t just have one agent to reach out to in order to ask questions or share their concerns about their transaction. There are several people with knowledge about the transaction, who also have specialized skills in dealing with specific aspects of the transaction. So as a client, you can rest assured you are in good hands no matter where you are in the transaction process.

With a team, you don’t have to know every little detail, so a lot of pressure gets taken off your shoulders.

As a solo agent, you have to learn everything the hard way: by doing it yourself. With a team you multiply and magnify your potential. We have members dedicated to each part of a transaction, so they can guide you as you learn the ropes. You’ll have a dedicated marketing specialist, staging specialist, transaction coordination specialist, and more.

Here’s a great example of the difference working with a team can make: We had an agent close the seller side of a deal with the seller then buying in a different state with a different agent. Their buyer agent didn’t understand rent-back agreements, and it was causing an issue in the transaction. Fortunately, we have a member on our team who specializes in rent-backs. They stepped in and were able to smooth the transaction out enabling the transaction to close on time.

With a team, agents don’t need to know every little detail about real estate to begin working and growing a successful business. As a client, you can rest easy knowing there is an entire team of specialized individuals working hard to make your transaction go as smoothly and successfully as possible.
